    Greetings from the Hoosier State!  Wednesday and Thursday I performed in Michigan and
am finishing the weekend here in Merrillville.  The best thing about this week is that
there’s not much “drive timeâ€� involved and every night has been a hotel gig.  Hotel
gigs are great in that once you park the car it doesn’t have to be moved, which is good
with gas prices averaging $3.30 in this area.
On Wednesday I worked in Houghton Lake,
Michigan.  It’s a nice area that would be
perfect for a weekend get-away.  One of the
perks of working here is the hotel, the
Comfort Suites.  It’s a really nice place
that’s located right on the lake and has
its own indoor water park.  The show was
fairly decent except for having a tight crowd
the first 10-minutes or so.  The food was
pretty good too.
Thursday morning I got up and made the
2.5-hour drive to Spring Lake, Michigan.  
This hotel is also in a touristy spot right
on the lake.  On the way down, I stopped
off at a gas station in the middle of
nowhere that was selling bait out of a
mini-fridge, which I think is hilarious.  
The show went about as well as yesterdays
did.  However, unlike last night, I sold
some merchandise, which is always good.
Finally I got here in Merrillville Friday
afternoon.  The hotel, The Radisson, is a
huge conference hotel with 3 swimming pools,
gigantic workout facility, and soft beds.  
These amenities were really helpful in
dealing with the crappy shows that we had.  
Due to the county fair, customers were
scarce and didn’t laugh at anything.  The
cops even had to physically remove some
people who were sitting right in the front!
The good news is that as soon as I finish
writing this, I’ll drive the 3-hours back
home and sleep in my own bed tonight.  GOTTA
GO!!!!!
