Greetings from the Sunshine State!  I am very excited to be working down in Florida
again.  This is a great state to visit.  The weather's warm, the drinks are cold, and
nobody works too hard.  However, this week that motto doesn't apply since there are
thousands of firefighters trying to calm the wildfires that are raging here and Southern
Georgia.
I arrived here Tuesday afternoon after
driving all night from Madison, AL, where I
had a show the night before.  Since I was
pretty beat I headed straight for the pool.
The weather was pretty warm but I didn't see
the sun much due to smoke from the wildfires.
I also hit "happy hour" at the hotel for a
beverage.  I don't know what it is about
being in Florida that makes Rum taste so
good.
The club, The Comedy Zone, is located inside
the hotel which made the week that much more
enjoyable.  I had heard great things about
this room from other comics and they were
all true.  The crowds were great and came
out in large numbers, which is impressive
for this time of year.  With weddings,
graduations, etc., May can be a bad month
for comedy.  The staff was friendly & very
helpful, and the food was excellent. (And
free!)
Overall, it was a great week in Jacksonville.
I met some cool people, sold some merch, and
even got a little suntan in the process.
Getting home to Indiana sucked.  I had to
take an alternate route because the
interstate was closed due to the wildfires.
Between the lack of rain and high winds, the
fire has proven a pain in the ass for
everybody.  I even saw one in median on the
interstate!  I sure hope the South-East gets
some rain FAST!

Until next week...
Danny :-)
WE NEED RAIN!!!
GREAT AUDIENCES AT THE ZONE
WELCOME TO FLORIDA...
