LIVONIA, MI
SEPT. 27-30, 2006
Greetings from The Wolverine State!  I've been looking forward to this week
for a couple of reasons.  First, it's been awhile since the last time I was
here and it's always a good time.  Secondly, my comic buddies have told me
that it's a great "merchandising" room and that I should expect to sell lots
of t-shirts & DVDs.
Since I've been on the road, I think I
have worked in Michigan more than any other
state.  It's really not that bad of a place
to visit, especially before the snow starts
blowing!  It's the only state in the U.S.
that's made up of two peninsulas & is
connected by the Mackinac Bridge.  I'm
working & staying in the suburbs of
Detroit, and am happy to report that I
heard only a few gunshots!
Joey's Comedy Club is housed in an
entertainment complex called Kickers.  It's
located in Livonia, which is about 20-miles
west of Detroit.  The place is always packed,
especially on the weekends.  The audiences are
responsive, the valet parking convenient, and
the food is great.  This is by far one of my
favorite clubs to visit.  Behind the stage is
a hallway that is mainly used by the servers.
On the walls you can find signatures from
every comic who's ever been here.
This week went better than expected.  My
comic buddies were correct, I did sell a lot of
t-shirts & had some great shows.  We did have
some drunken audience members wreak havoc one
night but the BIG bouncer guys quickly took
care of that nonsense.  (Thanks big bouncer
dudes!)  I'm already looking forward to
returning.  Now, I'm getting ready to drive
11-hours to Nebraska. Thankfully, I found
chewing gum with caffeine.  Awww yeeeaaahhh...I
won't sleep for days!
Until next week
Danny :-)
